What Social Justice Means to Me

Social justice is a serious issue that plays a large role in many people’s lives. By definition, social justice is justice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society. Although the problem itself is not social justice, the lack thereof. As a black student, I have always been informed of my insufficiency of privilege. Whether that be in the workplace, school area, or neighborhood. I’ve had constant direct contact with verbal aggression solely due to my race, religion, and/or background as well. Although we have obviously made huge strides since previous worse racist eras, social injustice is still very prominent today. It is important that we do not ignore it, but rather accept and deepen our own understanding, educate others, create change, and establish actual equality.
