Growth/Energy Pathway

This article goes over the experiences and gives some advice to new students entering the pathway.

Overall the growth/energy pathway at Metro is a variety of different things. The pathway includes juniors and seniors from Metro. In this pathway, you learn about business, agriculture, and lots of other things depending on your interests. Since this pathway is vaguer than the others it can stretch out to include many other interests in careers. For example, I am interested in criminology and psychology. The teacher of the growth/energy pathway (Mrs. Hammond) made sure to include guest speakers who were physiologists so I could see what their day-to-day life is like. Most of the students' interests are covered in this class, and they can see if they actually want to do that job professionally.

When the growth/energy pathway is not only doing rotations, we are learning about how to write resumes, how to be a good employee, how to write college applications, and much more. In the growth/energy pathway, you are given group projects and projects that you have to work on by yourself. For example, our summer reading project was something we worked on by ourselves. However, Most activities done in class are done in groups of 4-5 people. You get the opportunity to figure out how you work best. This class overall is very useful. It's good for anyone who doesn't know what they want to do with their life during or after college.
