How do you go about taking college classes as a high school student? What is OSU like? There are lots of ways to balance college as a high schooler, here are a couple things that I’ve learned while taking college classes and a couple tips about OSU.

Taking College Classes as a High Schooler

GETTING AN ‘A” ISN'T EVERYTHING. Though Metro has promoted this way of thinking you’ll soon find out in College that not getting an A isn’t as bad as you think. It needs to be recognized that it’s not the end of the world if you don’t get an A or a 90%.

MAKE SURE TO PUT YOUR BEST WORK FORWARD. Making sure to do your best work for assignments is very important in college because there's no second chances to fix assignments. So making sure to meet all the assignment requirements is very important.

MAKE SURE TO STAY UP TO DATE ON ASSIGNMENTS. Falling behind on assignments or waiting till the last minute to complete assignments will become very stressful and will end up only negatively affecting you. So making sure to stay up to date on assignments and projects and even starting them early is very useful and important.

 Tips about OSU Classes

CHECK OUT A CLASSES SYLLABUS. If you can, look up the syllabus about a class to see if what they’re teaching will be something you’ll like. It’ll make doing assignments and taking notes way more interesting and easy.

CHOOSE CLASSES OUT OF INTEREST INSTEAD OF TO COMPLETE A GE. Choosing classes you’ll be interested in instead of just trying to get GE credits makes school much more enjoyable and it may help you decide on your future career or major.

MAKE SURE TO ASK FOR HELP. Making sure to talk to your professors after class or during office hours if you’re confused about assignments or projects can be super helpful. Don’t just remain confused about something for class cause you’ll only get one chance for assignments or projects, there's no remediation in college.
